The
currency is the Philippine Peso (P), divisible
into 100 centavos. Notes are in denominations of 10, 20, 50, 100,
200, 500 and 1,000 while coins are at .05, .10, .25, P1 and P5.
Establishments do not readily take foreign currency. However, most
foreigh currencies can easily be changed at banks, hotels and authorized
foreign exchange dealers. Major foreign credit cards are accepted
only at major hotels, resorts, shops and restaurants. Visitors are
advised to bring sufficient amounts of change in small bills or
coins when moving around. |
