DEMITASSE INC., a family corporation fronted by three sisters who are young, urban professionals in their own right was set up in October of 2006. The family has already been selling their homemade empanadas since they started serving them during parties at home. Guests loved the empanadas and started ordering by the dozens to be given to their guests at home, served as pasalubong or snacks for events, or even as gifts during special occasions. The family saw the business potential of this product and decided to formally introduce it to the general Filipino consumer in a way that has never been done before. These young individuals sought to fill a void in the market for high quality filling snack food and reasonably priced espresso-based coffee. Thus, the brand Empanada MÁS was born.

The unique selling point of this brand is the fact that they are sharing their generations-old recipe of traditional, Spanish empanadas: homemade and fried golden brown to perfection. These empanadas are made fresh daily and are served warm. This delectable snack alternative is offered in 3 different variants: Pork, Chicken, and Cheese empanaditas. Offered together with this is a relatively wide variety of espresso-based coffee drinks, hot or cold, depending on the preference of their discerning clientele.

In the short existence of the company, they already have a loyal following of avid empanada lovers, both young and old alike. And their espresso-based coffee is slowly gaining ground and being recognized. With such a positive response in the first month of its operations, Empanada MÁS, is now planning to expand and offer their products to a wider range of potential customers.

BRAND DESCRIPTION

Empanada MÁS is a quaint food cart for traditional Spanish empanadas made from a family recipe that has been carefully passed on from mother to daughter for five generations. The cart offers six Empanada flavors: Chicken, Pork, Chorizo, Spinach with Cream Cheese, Cheese and Chocolate.

To best compliment our specialty empanadas, classic espresso-based hot and cold coffee are offered. In addition, to satisfy non-coffee drinkers, hot tea and hot chocolate will be available.

The design of the cart is clean and uncluttered, giving more focus to our main products. It evokes a laid-back feel reminiscent to European street side cafes. Royal blue and wood grain finish are its primary accent. We have attached a perspective of the cart for your reference.

Empanada MÁS aims to serve its customers in a very convenient and time-efficient way. We provide them the ability to walk up and order their choice of Empanada flavors that is kept fresh in a warmer and freshly brewed espresso-based drinks as desired. Empanada MÁS uses Italian made super automatic espresso machines which grind coffee beans just before extraction to ensure consistent aroma and flavor in every cup.
